BASE OF CHIOGGIA
Situated at the most southern point of the Lagoon of Venice, Chioggia has always been headquarter and first base of Rendez vous Fantasia and since 2004 it is the only base Locaboat in Italy. The centrality of this suggestive and picturesque “water town” in the panorama of the River Po/Venetian waterways make it an ideal port and departure launch for the most beautiful and successful itineraries during any season of the year. The base is in a panoramic position, strategically positioned between Chioggia (historic centre, 300 m.) and Sottomarina (bathing area, 500 m.).

How to get to the base
BY CAR
Arriving from Milan or Verona (through the A4 motorway), follow in the direction of A13 Bologna – Padova, and drive for about 4 km. Take the motorway exit Padova Zona Industriale-Interporto, follow than in the direction of state road 309 “Romea”Chioggia- Ravenna for about 45 Km.
Arriving from Udine, follow in the direction of Venezia – airport, go on to Tangenziale di Mestre, then follow in direction of ultima uscita – Marghera – Ravenna and follow in the direction of Chioggia-Ravenna (state road nr. 309 “Romea”) for about 45 Km.
Arriving from Bologna, take the motorway exit A13 in Monselice, then follow in the direction of Chioggia-Sottomarina (regional road nr. 104 “Via Mare”) for about 40 Km.
Arriving from Ravenna, follow the state road nr. 309 “Romea”.
From all the above-mentioned destinations take the exit “Chioggia-Sottomarina”; keep your right side and go straight on about 1 Km in direction of “Sottomarina” and “Mare”, across the circle (take the second exit “Viale Mediterraneo”).
Continue driving straight on for 1 Km along “Viale Mediterraneo”, across the 2 circles taking the second exit. Continue driving straight on for 500 metres, across the circle take the third exit “Lungomare Adriatico”.
Continue driving straight on for about 2 Km and across the circle take the second exit. On your left side you will see the hotels Airone and Bristol.
Continue driving straight on and just after Hotel Ambasciatori, turn left. Leave on your left side the Monument to the Sailor man with fountain.
Continue driving straight on for 200 m., at the circle take the second exit and continue driving along viale Veneto and via Roma.
In via Roma there is our office.
To reach our base, go over the bridge (200 m.) and just before the circle on your right side, is our base, lying in the Lusenzo Lagoon.
BY TRAIN
If you arrive from Milan or Verona, get off in Padua; than take the bus to “Chioggia/Sottomarina” line Sita nr. E005-V o E005-Z, (the bus terminal is on the left just 200 meters far from the railway station, service frequency: every 30 minutes, duration: about 1 hour and 20 minutes, ticket price: about 5,70 €). Get off in Sottomarina (last stop). From the bus station to our base it takes about 5/10 minutes on foot.
If you arrive from Udine/Trieste get off at Venice Santa Lucia railway station. Go over the new bridge Calatrava” and in a 5 minutes walk you will be in Piazzale Roma. Get the bus line ARRIVA VENETO n.80 (service frequency: every 30 minutes, duration: about 1 hour and 15 minutes, ticket price: about 6,90 €). Get off in Sottomarina (last stop). From the bus station to our base it takes about 5/10 minutes on foot.
If you arrive from Bologna get off in Rovigo railway station. Get on the regional train to Chioggia (duration: about 1 hour and 10 minutes, ticket price: about 6,00 €). From the railway station you can walk through the historical centre of Chioggia and in 20 minutes you will reach our base. Otherwise you can take the bus line n.2 or n.6 ACTV ( the bus stop is just outside the railway station, service frequency: every 15 minutes, ticket price: about 1,30 €). In 10 minutes it will take you to Isola dell’Unione.
In alternative Rendez vous Fantasia can organize on request your direct transfer from the railway station of arrival to the base of embarkation.
BY PLANE
Marco Polo Airport in Venice (about 60 Km from Chioggia) and Canova Airport in Treviso (about 80 Km from Chioggia) are the nearest airports to Chioggia .
From the Marco Polo Airport in Venice to Piazzale Roma, get on the bus line ACTV n.5 –AEROBUS (the bus stop is just outside the airport, service frequency: every 30 minutes, duration: 20 minutes, ticket price: about 10,00 €). When you get in Venice – Piazzale Roma, catch the bus line ARRIVA VENETO nr. 80 (service frequency: every 30 minutes, duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes, ticket price: about 6,90 €). Get off in Sottomarina (last stop). From the bus station to our base it takes about 5/10 minutes on foot. Note: A direct bus service from Marco Polo Airport to Sottomarina is available with the bus line ARRIVA VENETO nr. 85. Check the timetables according to your departure time.
From the Canova Airport in Treviso take the shuttle ATVO « Airport Bus Express » (the bus stop is located just in front of the airport, service frequency: every 30 minutes, duration: 1 hour and 10 minutes, ticket price: about 12,00 €). When you get in Venice-Piazzale Roma, get the bus line ARRIVA VENETO n.80 (service frequency: every 30 minutes, duration: 1 hour and 25 minutes, ticket price: about 6,90 €) and get off in Sottomarina (last stop). From the bus station to our base it takes about 5/10 minutes on foot.
If you arrive from the Orio al Serio Airport in Bergamo, get on the ATB bus (service frequency: every hour, ticket price: about 5,00 €) that will take you in just 10 minutes to the Train Station of Bergamo. In Bergamo catch the train to Brescia and from there the one to Padua (total duration: about 2 hours and 20 minutes, ticket price: about 41,00 €). In Padua get the bus “Chioggia/Sottomarina”, bus line SITA n. E005-V o E005-Z ( the bus terminal is on the left at just 200 meters from the exit of the train station, service frequency every 30 minutes, duration: 1 hour and 20 minutes, ticket price: about 5,70 €). Get off in Sottomarina (last bus stop). From the bus station to our base it takes about 5/10 minutes on foot.
If you arrive at the Marconi Airport in Bologna, get on the Aerobus shuttle – BLQ (service frequency: every 20 minutes, ticket price: about 4,00 €) that in just 20 minutes will take you to the Railway Station of Bologna. From Bologna catch the train to Rovigo and in Rovigo catch the regional train to Chioggia (total duration: about 2 hours and a half, ticket price: about 25,00 €), and get off at the last stop. Then from the railway station in 20 minutes you will get to our base walking across Chioggia (old town centre). As an alternative you can get the bus line ACTV n. 2 or n.6 (the bus stop is just at the exit of the railway station, service frequency: every 15 minutes, ticket price: about 1,30 €) that in 5 minutes will take you to Isola dell’Unione.
