Po, Ferrara and Mantua
Moor your boat in privileged locations. Adria, the Etruscan town that gave the name to the Adriatic Sea. Do not miss a visit to the National Archaeological Museum and to the charming Villa Badoer in Fratta Polesine, masterpiece by Andrea Palladio.
The cruise on the river goes on in Mantua, city of the Gonzaga Court. Do not miss Palazzo Ducale, located few minutes walking from the mooring. Other important attractions are the Gonzaga Palace, Mantegna’s Wedding Room, Isabella d’Este apartment and much more.
After that you will arrive in Ferrara with your boat. Ferrara is the capital of Renaissance, period of great splendour for the Estensi Court, that has left indelible signs everywhere in the town, such as the far-sighted design of the “Addizione erculea”, the magnificent “Estense Castle”, Palazzo Diamanti and the great frescoes of Palazzo Schifanoia.
Special advice: Mincio Natural Park. A real wonder of nature, culture and art. Its historic endowment includes castles and medieval strongholds, hunting grounds and ducal palaces, from hydraulic engineering masterpieces by Pitentino or Governolo, not to mention the Etruscan remains of Forcello and the prehistoric site in Castellaro Lagusello. The park is basically an open air museum, the ideal setting for marvellous excursions. Not only cultural, but also natural holiday.
